Can I make up missed classes?
You are welcome to make up classes within the same session – i.e., if you miss a class in the winter session, you have until the end of the winter session to make it up. You can even make up a class you know you’re going to miss beforehand!
[NOTE: Summer classes can be made up in the fall session as well!]
To make up a missed class, there are two things you need to do:
1. Cancel the class you’ve missed/are going to miss (you have until midnight the day of the class to do this – after that, you’ll need to contact us to cancel it).
- Log in to your account at www.monkeyrockmusic.com, which should bring you to a list of all the individual classes you have remaining in the current session. (If not, click ‘My Account’ in the top right corner.)
- Find the class you’ve missed/are going to miss – click ‘Cancel’, then confirm you want to cancel.
- This will add a class to your make-up classes, which can be scheduled any time before the end of the session (space permitting).
2. Schedule your Make-Up
- Click on Make-Up Classes along your dashboards header (just below the main header).
- Click the make-up button
- The list that appears will be classes in the current week. Click the arrows near the top if you wish to select a different week.
- Find the class you want to attend and click ‘Select’ – note that on some days there are multiple time slots for each age group. Note that there are TWO available make-up slots for any given class.
What age group should my child be in?
There are three age groups: 0-1 years old, 1-2 years old, and 2-4 years old.
Age Policy: If your child’s birthday occurs during a session and falls in the first half of the session, please enroll them in the older age group; if your child’s birthday falls in the second half of the session, please enroll them in the younger age group.
The ONLY exception: younger children may be enrolled in their older sibling’s class.
Can I try out Monkey Rock Music before we commit to a whole session?
We would love to offer your first class at Monkey Rock Music to you for free! We are so confident that you and your child will love Monkey Rock Music that you will come back for more.

Alternatively, you can take advantage of our First Class Guarantee. Booking a free drop-in as mentioned above, doesn’t secure you a spot in the class after that. If you’d like, you can enrol in and pay for the full session, then after your first class if you decide it’s not for you, just send us an email letting us know. As long as we receive your email before your second class takes place, we’ll give you a 100% refund.

Be sure to use the filters to help find the exact class for you – at any given time, we may be taking enrolment for both the current and next session. Mid-session registration charges will be automatically pro-rated based on the remaining number of classes.
Where can I find the schedule for the location I want? How can I know if there are spaces?
Under the CLASSES tab at the top of the page, select Sessions. When you click on the Location filter, you’ll see a list of locations. Pick one to see what is offered there.
Once you’ve clicked on the session you’re interested in, you’ll see a drop-down menu with the available classes, and an indication of available space. (Note: You must be logged in to see the drop-down menu.)
If I join mid-session, do I have to pay for the whole thing?
The website automatically pro-rates the fee based on the number of classes remaining in the session. When you enrol at any point during the session, the fee is based on $15 per class plus applicable taxes.
Can I bring my partner/spouse/parent/additional caregiver to the class?
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we ask that only one caregiver attend the class per child. This is due to the limited number of people we are able to have in a room at any given time. In order to ensure there are no issues with regard to social distancing and room capacities we will be maintaining a maximum of one grown-up per children ratio in the classroom for the foreseeable future.
That said, we do hope to return to our previous policy of allowing more than one grown-up per child again once it is safe to do so!
My little one’s friend is in a class that is full can you make an exception and squeeze us in?
Sorry – we can’t squeeze you in. Due to safety concerns, we limit the number of children in each class.
Fret not! You can get on the wait list and you’ll be next in line if a spot opens up. Follow the same procedure as if you were enrolling, and the wait list option will come up. When wait lists become particularly full, we often open a second class!
What if my child is sick?
If your child is under the weather or showing signs of sickness such as: fever, vomiting, rashes, pink eye, etc., we ask that you please do not bring them to class.
You can, however, make up your missed class later in the session. Be sure to refer to the first entry in the FAQ for instructions – you need to cancel your class as soon as you know you’re not coming!
What happens if I return to work or need to quit?
Due to uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be issuing any refunds. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause, but unfortunately due to the nature of business expenses and the anticipated volume of refund requests, we simply do not have the funds to refund all customers. If you would like to withdraw from the program, we can put your classes on account indefinitely for a future session. You MUST notify us via email of your intent to withdraw – once a class has passed, your only option is to do a ‘make-up’ class within the same session.
Can I enrol more than one child?
Of course! We strongly encourage families to share in the joy of music together.
For the safety and enjoyment of all, we ask that siblings attending together enrol in the class of the eldest child (E.g.: if a 2 year old and an 8 month old from the same family enrol with Monkey Rock Music, both children would come to the 2-4 year old class.)
With the full enrolment of a child, each additional sibling can enrol with a 25% discount – whether or not they are enrolled in the same class. Siblings under 6 months of age on the first day of the session can accompany at no charge.
School is closed today! Can I bring my older child?
Any sibling, 4 years old or younger, can drop-in on a Monkey Rock Music class. Make sure they attend the appropriate age group. E.i., if you have a child enrolled in the 1-2 year-olds’ class, and want a 3 year-old sibling to attend, please bring BOTH kids to the 2-4 year-olds’ class. Contact us for details.
Unfortunately, under no circumstances can a child too old for a class be present. They can’t be in the room, nor wait out in the hall – this is due to safety and liability issues for both Monkey Rock Music and the venues we use.
So sorry for the inconvenience!
We won’t be able to attend all classes this session - can my child drop in on one class?
As long as there is availability you are welcome to bring your child for just one class. The fee is $19 plus applicable taxes.

Can I take pictures/videos?
You are welcome to take photos of your child and the instructor only. For the safety of all children, we ask that no videos are taken in class. If you would like any pictures that include other children in the class, we ask that you speak to their caregiver first.
What if my child is VERY energetic?
All children learn in different ways, and as fully trained educators we strongly support individual learning methods. If you have any concerns about whether Monkey Rock Music is right for you and your child, please contact us and we’d be more than happy to answer any questions.
