Birthday Parties
Want your child’s birthday party to really rock? We’ll lead you and your guests in both traditional and new kids’ songs that will get adults and children singing and moving! Our 45 minute program includes one rock star on the guitar, instruments for everyone to play, a parachute, a stuffed monkey for the birthday child and all the rock and roll you can handle. Got a favorite song or two? Let us know and we’ll do our best to include it (no Stairway or Freebird, please).
Parties in urban Ottawa are $150 + HST, see the link below for information about distance premiums for the suburbs. Contact us for availability – we book up fast! Due to Saturday classes, Monkey Rock Music is only available for parties on Saturday afternoons and all day Sundays.

Special Events
Why not invite us to your school, summer camp, or other special program? We do targeted performances from pre-school to grade 6. Our show is an hour long, and is 100% participatory – that is, every song has the audience not just singing, but doing actions, dancing, and even up on stage playing instruments. We believe that kids want more than to just sit and watch us sing – they want to be part of the fun for the full hour!
Our one hour show is $200 + HST, which includes a PA system for larger groups – there is no maximum number! (Pricing may include an additional distance premium for shows in the ‘burbs and outlying areas – contact us for details.)
John came to our home and had 12 boys ranging from 3 to 6 years old (and two classical musician parents) completely engaged. The kids loved singing, dancing and playing along on the percussion instruments that John brought with him. And the parachute was naturally a big hit. What struck me most was John’s instant rapport with the kids, his infectious love of music, and the talent to back it up.
We were so impressed by John’s rapport with children when we saw him do his thing at the b’day party of the sons of one of our friends, including with our daughters, we knew he’d be perfect for Kaelin’s 4th b’day party. We were not disappointed at all. He was great. His rapport with the children is instantaneous. He makes a point of remembering all the childrens’ names (there were more than 10 at our place) and works them into the songs. The children (and some parents too) all sang, danced and very clearly had a great time. Thanks again John. You were great.

We had 14 kids (ages 2-6) over to celebrate my son’s 2 year old birthday and he was a HUGE hit. The kids were mesmerized and the adults were singing the entire time. Everyone was up and dancing at one point or another. He exceeded my expectations…. he even remembered all of the kids names. I highly recommend John for any party. Thank you.
John was amazing. He came to my daughter’s 3rd birthday and knocked the socks off her and her 9, 2-3 year old friends. My daughter is normally shy, and she warmed up to John immediately. His songs were a mix of new and classic and the kids had a blast dancing, singing, and playing along.

John made my son’s 3rd birthday party a day to remember. Any sense of shyness the kids may have felt was gone the minute the music started (and that goes for the parents too!). I got to sit back and enjoy the party while my little guests rocked out.
