What age group should my child be in?

To ensure that classes can be targeted to the appropriate age, it’s very important your child is enrolled in their age group. If your child’s birthday is during the session, please use this guideline – if your child’s birthday falls in the first half of the session, please enroll them in the older age group; if your child’s birthday falls in the second half of the session, please enroll them in the younger age group.  The only exception: younger children may be enrolled in their older sibling’s class.

What if I miss a class? Or quit?

You can make up missed classes at any other location during the session.  Check the schedule, and then fill out the online form.  Even if the web site says a class is sold out, there are still two extra spots for make up lessons.  If there’s room, I probably won’t write back, so you can just show up.  If the class is too full, I’ll email you and we’ll schedule a different day for your make up.

If you need to cancel outright, we can offer you a refund based on the remaining number of classes minus a $30 cancellation fee.  Alternatively, you can transfer the remaining classes to the next session at no charge – some restrictions apply, please contact us for details.

What if my child has the sniffles?

If your child is under the weather and showing signs of sickness such as: fever, vomiting, rashes, pink eye, we ask that you please do not bring them to class. In order to try to keep children safe and healthy, we ask that good hand-washing practices be used and anyone with a communicable (contagious) condition rest in the comfort of their own home until they are better. Please contact a doctor to find out when the best time would be for your child to be back among other children.

How do I pay?

You can pay for your entire session by cash, cheque or email bank transfer. If you have any questions about any of these payment options, we would be happy to talk with you.  We do not accept PayPal, as they charge exorbitant fees.

What if I enroll more than one child?

We strongly encourage families to share in the joy of music together. For the safety and enjoyement of all, we ask that siblings enroll in the class of the eldest child. For example, if a 2 year old and a 6 month old from the same family enroll with Monkey Rock Music, both children would come to the 2-4 year old class. With the full enrollement of a child, each additional sibling can enroll with a 25% discount.

Can I bring my other child to just one class?

Siblings are welcome to join a class but must register for a drop in class in advance. The drop in rate is $17 per class but siblings of enrolled students receive a discount of 25% ($12.75).

Can I get a free sample?

We would love to offer your first class at Monkey Rock Music to you for free! We are so confident that you and your child will love Monkey Rock Music that you will come back for more. Please contact us to schedule your free demo lesson.

Can I take pictures/videos?

For the safety of all children, we ask that NO videos are taken in class. You are, however, welcome to take photos of YOUR child and the instructor. If you would like any pictures of other children in the class, we ask that you speak to their caregiver first.

What if my child is VERY energetic?

All children learn in different ways, and as fully trained educators we strongly support individual learning methods. If you have any concerns about whether Monkey Rock Music is right for you and your child, please contact us and we’d be more than happy to answer any questions.
